At the Purchase Players Community Performing Arts Center we strive to inspire young people in their creative process and help them achieve theatrical excellence. As such, Children ages 6 - 12 are invited to attend a 2-week theatre camp and immerse themselves in fun while learning all about the magic of live theatre. They'll have a great time while learning the basics of theatre, as well as participating in many age appropriate hands-on theatre activities. Each attendee will participate in the production and receive a free cast t-shirt and other goodies. No auditions are required, but openings will be limited—so make sure to apply early. Children's Theatre Camp Counselor Information Children's Theatre Camp counselor responsibilities include supervising and aiding campers during theatre-related activities and rehearsals and helping to provide a safe environment before, during, and after camp hours and performance times. Counselors will receive instruction from the directors as to their other daily responsibilities.Camp counselors must attend the camp every day from 12:30 to 5:30 PM and help backstage during performances.Previous experience is not necessary, but counselors will be expected to have a basic knowledge of theatrical elements.Graves County and Mayfield school systems are committed to community involvement. Volunteering as a counselor with the PPCPAC Children's Theatre Camp is not only fun and good experience but can also be counted toward your school's required community service. Counselor Application for the Children's Theatre Camp - must be postmarked no later than May 15.
