when loveable geeks, over-achievers and raging hormones become a wacky mix that
spells irresistible f-u-n…. as six bookworms vie for the spelling bee title and
a trip to nationals in Washington.
Guided - or misguided - by three
adults, this spellbinding journey through the awkward years will have you
laughing at and relating to the show’s unlikely heroes. But don’t get too
comfortable - four audience members will be selected to play along in the Bee
(totally voluntary), so don’t forget to study!
The irreverent,
politically incorrect 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee contains some adult
content - roles of the spellers are actually played by adults who portray
children, and is recommended for theatre goers 13 and over.
